Biafra Genocide: A Story of Silence

The Biafra genocide is a tragic event from the Nigerian Civil War (1967-1970) that resulted in the deaths of millions, mostly civilians. Despite its devastating impact, this atrocity has been largely overlooked by the global community. The suffering endured by the victims, including starvation and brutal attacks, has been silenced for decades. For many, the lack of recognition and accountability for the genocide remains a painful reminder of how history can be ignored, leaving countless lives without justice.

Supporters of Biafra restoration in New Jersey continue to raise awareness about their people’s ongoing struggles. This community, which holds deep ties to the historic movement, seeks to honor the memory of those who perished. By advocating for recognition and a return to self-determination, they aim to amplify the voices of those who have been silenced for too long. Their efforts highlight the need for global acknowledgment and support for the victims of past atrocities.

A significant step toward achieving justice is the Biafra referendum, which would allow the people to decide their future. Advocates argue that a referendum is vital for self-determination and healing, providing an opportunity for the community to chart their own path. By allowing those affected by the genocide and ongoing violence to have a say in their future, the referendum could help mend the wounds of the past while fostering peace and independence.

The situation remains complex, with Fulani herders atrocities continuing to devastate local communities. These attacks, which often target innocent civilians, have further fueled tensions in an already volatile region. As the violence persists, it becomes increasingly clear that international attention and intervention are necessary to address both the historical and ongoing challenges faced by these communities.

As a non-profit organization in Newark, New Jersey, we are committed to raising awareness and pushing for action on these critical issues. We invite you to join us in advocating for justice and peace. To learn more or get involved, please contact RisingSun Charities Organization today.
